After breakfast, which can be enjoyed by everyone - whether a hotel guest or not - the light-flooded room is transformed into an event restaurant. With its conservatory and terraces, it can be booked exclusively for your event in Bernkastel-Kues.
The beautiful, bright room with two large balconies and the unique conservatory creates a good atmosphere in the morning. So it's not so easy for the art on the walls to attract attention.
You can enjoy our varied breakfast Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 10:30 and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 07:30 to 09:15 or 09:30 to 11:00.
A closer look reveals numerous depictions of vine leaves and grapes. These are parts of old ampelographic works, single sheets from historical reference books from the 18th and 19th centuries, made from copper and steel engravings that were coloured by hand piece by piece. Certainly a unique collection. In addition, there are some old advertising sheets from the Deinhard sparkling wine cellars, now around 100 years old, which still impress with their simple and clear message: Your sparkling wine is Deinhard!
Above the buffet, a large oil painting with strongly surrealistic reinterpretations of mystical figures from the ancient view of Dionysus (Bacchus). Title: ‘Flora and her entourage try to bring Silen, the tutor of Dionysus, closer to a fruit day’
On the sideboard by the oval window, a tall single figure of a standing woman carrying a large jug of wine on her right shoulder. She was created around 1990 by the well-known artist Horst Panknin (1938 to 2019). He reduced his figures to their essential characteristics, all of them radiating calm and relaxation.
On the shelf above the breakfast buffet is a stylised female head by the famous Italian artist Modigliani ‘Head’ from 1912, a bronze cast based on the wooden model, which is now kept in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Next to the entrance 2 sheets of ‘Moselle songs’, wood engravings from the end of the 19th century. At that time, a competition was launched to see who could compose the most beautiful Moselle song ... these sheets were also coloured by hand.
Breakfast at DEINHARD's in Bernkastel-Kues - simply more than just breakfast.
