Fresh cocktails, delicious wines and good music with a unique view over the vineyards - welcome to the Rooftop Bar at DEINHARD's in Bernkastel-Kues!
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Peter Mertes, Germany's largest winery, we are opening a pop-up bar to round off summer evenings in style. We, the trainees at Mertes, look after your well-being and are happy to raise a glass with you.

Thursday from 5 - 10 pm Friday and Saturday from 2 - 10 pm
The eye wanders over hundreds of historic slate roofs in endless variations, uninterrupted by the architectural outgrowths of so-called modernity, an old town like that of Bernkastel, which has been a town charter for 8oo years. Behind it, the majestic green triangle of the famous ‘Bernkasteler Doctor’, a world-renowned vineyard. The colossal building of the St. Michael's Tower and the Schlossberg, crowned by the ruins of Landshut Castle, emerge from the tangle of roofs.
Before the amazement comes to an end, a nimble DEINHARD's employee serves sparkling wine, wine and fine delicacies. In convivial company, on the ‘roof of DEINHARD's’, inside behind panoramic windows and outside, the roof garden of the ROOFTOP BAR. The name says it all: the lounge is adorned with an oversized picture of the two satyrs painted by Cologne-born Peter Paul Rubens in 1618 in an incomparable manner, and by the way: people also drank Moselle wine in Cologne.
